Yesterday was Cameron’s official last working day with us at Nechells POD, however today he has kindly come in to help during our community lunch and to say his final goodbyes to everyone.
On 15 December we held our Festive Community Lunch it was lovely to see some of our regular users and partners all together having a good time and chatting away. Today students from UCB(University College Birmingham) offered Mini Make over for the Nechells community, they had a range of Beauty treatments on offer such as Pedicures, facials and much more. We had a great turn out and we hope to see even more people next Friday when they here again from 9:00am – 12:00pm.
Today children from a local Nechells Primary School visited the POD to use the library. before their session with Adele the librarian, they performed a poem to POD staff the brilliant poem was ‘The Gruffalo’ themed.
Today at lunch time POD staff went out to celebrate Sheena’s up and coming wedding. we had a great three course meal at College of Food, we all had beautiful food and the college offered an excellent service. We would like to say a huge congratulations to Sheena on her wedding.
Each week in our Well-being Programme the class learn new beauty routines/treatments and in today’s session Asma taught the class a variety of foot care techniques. AFRUCA ran a fantastic Workshop here at the POD on Friday 20th October 2017. In the session they covered being positive, parenting tips and discussed Safeguarding techniques all the Nechells residents who took part found the information very useful and all enjoyed being a part of the workshop.
