Pupils from St Clement’s, St Joseph’s and St Vincent’s all started their Annual Maths Challenge Event today, based on a Rain Forest theme. Year two were the first pupils to take part at the morning session and the afternoon session involved everyone from year three. Mr and Mrs Teffer designed the programme and set up all the challenges around the hall for the children to circulate round until they got as many stars on their Maths Challenge Passports as possible for all their completed tasks. The pupils worked in pairs and moved around the stations which were facilitated by year 10 students from Heartlands Academy completing the mathematical challenges including measuring, weighing and making models to complete the assigned tasks. The pair with the highest scores from each school were all awarded a prize and everyone got a little gift for taking part and making the day so enjoyable.
