The POD held a cream tea event this afternoon, despite the wind and the rain there was a good turn out and everyone has a great time, the scones were beautifully prepared and presented by Suzanne and Shantel and little Thomas managed to walk right across the community room all by himself well done Tommy!
We were especially honoured to be visited by Andy Street – Managing Director of John Lewis , Helen Weir – Group Finance Director and Benet Northcote – Head of Corporate Responsibility, we were also joined by Alex Warsama – Housing Neighbourhood Manager – Nechells. Following a tour of the building Noran introduced our visitors to some of our community members who told Andy and his team all about living in Nechells and all the activities we do at the POD. We hope that the POD will be able to form close links with the John Lewis Partnership as they prepare to launch their flagship store in Birmingham and that the community of Nechells will benefit from working together in Nechells.
