On Friday 26 October we were visited by our MP Shabana Mahmood who planted trees with the community as part of the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy Trees. She had very kindly arranged for us to receive 5 saplings, hazel, rowan and silver birch that are native species that support birds, insects and other wildlife. The trees will be planted across the Commonwealth to unite all the countries. We enjoyed planting our trees and will enjoy watching them grow, knowing they are making a real difference now and for generations to come. Many thanks to Shabana, who didn’t mind getting her hands dirty!
