Some of our POD families and elders travelled up to Spinkhill, Mount St Mary’s College, near Sheffield today. This was the start our wonderful weekend residential funded by the BIG Lottery Safe Haven Project. We had a lovely journey up the M1 and arrived just in time for mid morning refreshments. After settling everyone in their lovely en-suite accommodation we all assembled for lunch before a brisk afternoon walk to enjoy the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. We returned for light refreshment before taking everyone swimming in the fantastic on site pool. After our evening meal there will be board games and bingo followed by a disco where we can all strike a pose to some great dance classics. Then off to bed remembering that the clocks spring forward an hour this evening, ready for another fun packed day tomorrow which will include more swimming, walking and games, a family film for us all to enjoy. The weather has been great and we are looking forward to the rest of the weekend.
