Today we held our Community Lunch which was made extra special as we said farewell to Shantel. This gave the community a chance to say goodbye and to congratulate Shantel on her new job.
We had a number of Nechells residents and Nechells POD partners who came along to enjoy some music and food together. We presented Shantel with gifts from the community which included a photo-book that Cameron had made with images of POD participants and lovely quotes that they wrote themselves. An example of one of the farewell messages read “It definitely won’t be the same without you , we will really miss you, we wish you all the best in your new job but please don’t forget about us!”. Shantel then gave a beautiful speech about how much she will miss everyone at Nechells POD and how much Noran and Zenia have supported and helped her grow as a person over the last 9 years she has worked at the POD. Noran summed up how amazing Shantel had been throughout her time at Nechells POD. As everyone showed today she will be must hugely by us all.
As usual we finished the Community Lunch with a raffle participants won a range of gifts which were donated by the community. It was a successful afternoon and we would like to thank you all for making it a special goodbye to Shantel.
