Today we had a very exciting Place of Welcome as we counted up the votes from our EqualiTeas event last week. We had 107 votes and everyone voted to have a designated space at The POD for Nechells Library. We are thrilled that the community are coming together to support and campaign for this much needed resource in the heart of Nechells. If you have not already done so please pop into the POD to sign our petition regarding the library. We are hoping this will encourage Birmingham City Council to commence work on the extension to our building which will house the library and a community café. Thanks to everyone for your support.
We were also joined at Place of Welcome by Nitiesh and Holly who are the community engagement workers for Balfour Beatty Vinci , who have the contract for building HS2. They were interested to hear about what local residents thought about HS2 and talked about the employment it would bring to the area.
