Over the weekend their were a number of Great Get Together events all around England which were celebrating Jo Cox’s belief that we all have many things in common and that ‘we have more in common than that which divides us’. We held our Great Get Together event on Saturday 17th June 2017, we had over 140 guests who came along and joined in with a packed day full of exciting family games and crafts activities.
The residents of Nechells enjoyed taking part in face painting with Nat(@unattyarts), a variety of sporting activities with Park Lives, creative crafts with Birmingham Play Care Network and colourful dove making in our community room.Our residents from babies to octogenarians were joined by our MP Shabana Mahmood, who joined in the fun. We had a wonderful day and it was brilliant to see everyone smiling and getting along as the sun was shining down, what a fabulous way to remember Jo Cox.
