Our Nechells Zone schools, Bloomsbury, Cromwell, Nechells, St Clement’s, St Joseph’s, St Vincent’s and Heartlands all came together today at the Alexander Stadium for the third annual zone games, the sun shone and we all had a fantastic day. All the medals and trophies were sponsored by Smurfit Kappa SSK and presented by Red Watch from Aston Fire Station. There were track and field events for pupils from nursery to year 6 and even races for the parents and staff. Everyone enjoyed a refreshing cornetto or a rasberry ice lolly after lunch and the children played team games before the competition started again in the afternoon. We would like to thank the students and staff from Heartlands Academy for organising and supervising the races, to Colin from Cromwell for doing such a great job recording all the scores and to everyone who took part on the day either as competitor or spectator. The overall winners were St Vincent’s for the third year running! Well done St Vincent’s.
