Birmingham Play Care Network have been working on a project about play with the year three pupils at St Clement’s CE Academy. Local residents were asked if they would like to join the project and they worked with Becky and the children to talk about what games and toys they played with when they were children and how play has changed over the years.
Today there was a joint trip and the FiNs travelled with the children to the Black Country Living Museum to experience what life was like in the past. We started with a talk from John one of the museum guides and we learnt all about toys and games and the fun we can have with our imagination. There was a tour of the mine and a trip to the laundry to see how hard wash day was. The FiNs enjoyed a lovely fish and chip meal and and a trip to the cinema to see a Laurel and Hardy film. The day ended with skipping games and hoops before we all made the journey home. Everyone had a wonderful time and it was lovely to see the generations playing together. Thank you Becky and BPCN for a lovely day to remember!
