There was a big clear up in Nechells today, the event was organised by Churches Together in Nechells and brought together volunteers from the local community, statuatory and voluntary organisations. St Matthew’s Church and the POD were used a bases for briefings, distribution of litter picking equipment, refreshments and bathroom facilities. The event ran from 1-6pm with a free BBQ attended by 150people in the courtyard area of St Matthew’s Church to round of the afternoon. The clear up was a great sucess with over 130 bags of litter collected during the afternoon. by 65 litter pickers, so well done to everyone who gave their time to take part in the event and showed how much we all care about Nechells.
