The parent and child family learning group enjoyed their last session in the sun today, the group met in the conference room to watch a slide show of their trip to the donkey sanctuary in Sutton Park last week. The group then moved into the outdoor play area to let off some steam and then visited the POD allotment to see how well the vegetables have been growing in the lovely sunny weather we have all been enjoying. Everyone had lots of fun helping to give the plants a nice drink of water to help them continue to grow big and strong, have you seen the size of the broad beans!
Earlier in the morning POD staff harvested the crop of delicious ripe and juicy strawberries, which were washed and prepared ready for everyone to share. At the end of the mornings activities the group enjoyed a selection of food brought in by the parents to celebrate the end of another term of exciting activities with Megan and also shared the strawberries – yum yum!
The group will resume on 5th September 2013 so if you live in Nechells and have pre school aged children then come along and enjoy the fun!
