Pirate Challenge 2011
Pirates invaded Nechells to take part in a fantastic numeracy challenge. With support from Teachers and staff and students from Aston University, children from all 6 of the EAZ primary schools dressed up as pirates to solve a series of numerical challenges and puzzles.
We've made two videos of the the event and they can be viewed on our POD TV channel by clicking on the links below.

We had a fantastic trip to the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter this morning, the weather was wonderful and we learnt all about the history of the jewellery quarter which is so close to Nechells. We would like to thank Oliver Buckley and his team for the brilliant tour of the Smith and Pepper factory and for making us all so welcome, the tea and biscuits at the end of the tour went down a treat! We are all looking forward to Oliver returning to the POD to tell us more about the history of Birmingham and to give our FiN's the opportunity to feed back on what it was like to work and live in Birmingham to help the research that Oliver is undertaking. We also had the opportunity to meet with Cathy Miles and Miranda Sharpe who are two of the three artists who are currently exhibiting in the gallery at the museum. It was very interesting to see the new work and techniques used by modern jewellers and artists.
