Primary Careers Event in Partnership with Heartlands Academy
Oscott College - Sutton Coldfield 19th July 2010
Children from schools within the Heartlands Cluster enjoyed a day at Oscott College in Sutton Coldfield. During the day the Year 6 pupils learnt about many different careers and professions these included plumbing, banking, dentistry, medicine and careers in health and social care. The children enjoyed practical workshops, shared new experiences and learnt about work ethics i.e. punctuality and team working. In one workshop they learnt about working with individuals with disabilities and experienced what it would be like to be blind, this workshop was particularly popular. In total 193, year 6 pupils took part in this event and all reported that they felt more confident regarding their future careers. Students from the Heartlands Academy mentored the year six pupils during the day.

Neighbourhood Meetings - Police Surgery

The Nechells Neighbourhood meetings have a new set of dates for 2012, the group gives residents from the Nechells area the opportunity to receive updates from the local police and raise any concerns that they have about their community. All residents are welcome to these relaxed and informal discussions, come and join the group to find out what's happening in your area!
